Obama's Celebrity Support

Looking through past elections Barack Obama was a first for many things. One aspect of his candidacy that really stood out to me was all of the celebrity support that he received. Some of his major supporters were will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas, who wrote "Yes We Can" and "We are the Ones" both based on speeches given by the President. Some say his biggest supporter was Oprah, who for the first time in her twenty-five year endorsed a candidate. This included throwing him a fundraiser at her home which was said to have brought in an estimated 3 million dollars. Others included Jennifer Aniston, Ben Affleck, Robert De Niro, Chis Rock, Samuel L. Jackson, George Clooney, along with many others. I believe all of the support was extremely beneficial to his campain.
